Errata: Macrolichens of the Northern Rocky Mountains
Key to Genera
p. 26, lead 31b, delete "sor or not;" Note that esorediate species of Arctoparmelia (not known from the northern Rockies) could be added in an additional dichotomy under lead 40a.
Alectoria species other than A. vexillifera (especially A. ochroleuca) will also key out to lead 58b on p. 36. Therefore, cross out "vexillifera" at the end of lead 58b.
Cetraria species with very narrow lobes will key under 49b (p.28): Xa Thallus usually suberect; pycnidia often prominent...Cetraria Xb Thallus appressed or loosely appressed...54.
Nephroma arcticum and N. expallidum have no entry in the key to genera. Insert below lead 38b (p. 26): Xa Lobes broad (mostly > 3 mm)...Nephroma. Xb Lobes narrow to medium (mostly < 3 mm)...40.
Solorina species other than S. crocea should key out under 23b (p.25): Xa Apothecia sunken in thallus; on soil in alpine or subalpine...Solorina Xb Apothecia and habitat otherwise...24.
Keys to Species
Cetraria subalpina, p. 74, should also be keyed under 18a, since it is often larger than 2 cm.
Cladonia merochlorophaea, p. 82 and elsewhere should be the recently described C. albonigra Brodo & Ahti.
Cladonia, p. 83. Replace lead 62a with "Podetia short, <3(5) cm; cups often goblet shaped; interior of cups with sparse to abundant peltate squamules".
Evernia, p. 100. Lead 1a, change "uncommon w Cont Div" to "uncommon e Cont Div".
Pannaria praetermissa, p. 130, should also key under 8a because it sometimes lacks a thalline margin.
Trapeliopsis wallrothii, p. 166, spore measurement should be 8-14 x 4-5 um.
Umbilicaria lambii, p. 169, should also be keyed in Group 1 (p. 168) for fertile material. It has either a smooth disk or sometimes a disk with concentric or irregular fissures.
Index
p. 207, add subaridum (Leptogium)...116
